Would it be appropriate to talk about a particular genetic disease I have that has hurt me both physically and mentally in a college essay? I have recently overcome this disease through a massive change in lifestyle, and can write very positively about that in my essay.
I already have a really good format picked out.
My only question is whether or not the actual subject is appropriate for an essay.

I have this question, too. I have a rare genetic disorder that has caused me to have physical complications (including absolutely no competitive sports due to major potential for injury and liability) and strained my mental health at times, but have also reached a great place with my health. Any information on this would be super helpful.

It’s very hard to say until you write the essay. I suppose that you could make it work, but I would need to see it. Feel free to PM me.
