A disability/disease specific to YOU, not to your family members or your friends..
If so, what did you write about? How did you structure your essay?
I'm trying to write about my disease but I'm having trouble..

One advice: some colleges may reject you BECAUSE you have a disease, or disability. You better make it clear in your essay that this clearly won’t affect others in the colleges you’re applying to. And that you can definitely handle the work and grow as an individual despite this handicap.

^ colleges won’t discriminate against disabilities. just like they don’t consider skin color ;)

That’s why I said <you better=“” make=“” it=“” clear=“” in=“” your=“” essay=“” that=“” this=“” clearly=“” won’t=“” affect=“” others=“” the=“” colleges=“” you’re=“” applying=“” to.=“” and=“” you=“” can=“” definitely=“” handle=“” work=“” grow=“” as=“” an=“” individual=“” despite=“” handicap.=“”> The first sentence would’ve been omitted if disease was not mentioned.</you>

Speaking of disabilities, I wonder if colleges would accept someone with down syndrome or super low IQ? You serious they don’t discriminate? The degree of how bad this thing is could definitely prevent someone from gaining admission. If they can’t handle the work because of disability why admit them? So the students and staff at that college can watch him get screwed over academically and laugh?

I briefly mentionned my “disease” in my essay but I chose not to let it take a more than needed space. By doing so, I figured I would be conveying the feeling that even though I may have some… difficulties, I really am doing my best not to let it influence me too much. It means I only wrote three, maybe four, lines about the time my disease became really a hard to cope with, thus explaining the sudden downfall of my grades in Junior year.
