Is there a major involving genetics and nanotechnology at umich? Would I have to go through the CoE (biotechnology), or through LSA? Or both?

Thanks.

I got a chance to talk to the head chemistry professor at MSU (not umich, but it probably still applies), and he said that if you wanted to be involved in nanotechnology, that your undergraduate major really didn't make much of a difference, and the majority of your courses would have to be taken at the graduate level and beyond. As far as what to do for the four years spent preparing for that, he said majors in chemistry or molecular biology would probably be the best.

Edit: I just remembered that he also mentioned chemical engineering as a good undergraduate major for a specialization in nanotechnology.
