Geographic benefit?

How much value or benefit comes from being in a low represented state? Say, an applicant from Kentucky to Middlebury , or Oregon to Sewanee?

Living in North Dakota always helps.

I’ve been told it depends on the school. Some schools have a fair amount of applicants from a lot of states, and others don’t. For schools without a lot of applicants from your state, I think your stats still have to fall within their range, but it differentiates you from other kids with your same stats.

I think Sewanee actually mentioned once in a presentation that they have never had a student from North Dakota and would love if someone that was qualified would apply!
