Im about to finish my sophmore year of college with a 3.5 GPA. Next fall I will be transferring to a University. I applied to Michigan State but im not sure if I will be accepted so I have looked into GVSU's programs since that is likely where I will go.

Anyways I originally was going to go with Dental Health, then Astronomy, then Physics. I finally decided on Geology. Problem is because of the cirriculum and the fact that I took zero Geo classes these first two years is that it will take 3 more years to get my B.S.

I worked out my possible schedule for the next 3 years and ended up with a bunch of 8-10 credit terms. Well I would rather take more classes to meet the set deal price they have for 12-15 credits. So I figured since I will be there 3 years anyways that I would fill the empty time with classes for another major.

So here are my options:

-I can double major by doing the B.S Geology and a B.S Earth Science which is practically all the same classes so I will still have some 9-10 credit terms.

-They actually have a Geology-Chemistry Dual Major (not double). This takes away a few of the Geology requirements and adds a bunch of chem courses. Chem interests me but I have heard that the field sucks. My main concern here is will a B.S Geology-Chemistry look worse than a straight up B.S Geology? I plan on seeking out a Ph.D in Geology afterwards so the Geology is what is most important.

-I can double major with the B.S Geology and a B.S Natural Resource Management. This would load my schedule the most but is realistically what fits me best because I wanted to enter a Geology career that involves Natural Resources like oil, minerals, etc. However NRM isnt a degree ive heard of and therefore I am not sure if it would even be worth all the added work?

-I could double major in Geology and something else? (Biology, Geography, hmmm)

-I could major in Geology and maybe find something to minor in or double minor in a few things.

Anyways please shine some insight and make this decision a little easier for me. Thanks.
