George Mason University vs UVA

I live in the Northern Virginia area, and I recently got accepted into GMU and UVA as a transfer student. I will be majoring in government with a concentration in foreign/international affairs. I am having trouble deciding which would be better for my major as well as getting a future job. GMU appeals to me because I went to the local community college in town and the same professors teach there, thus I already have connections. Also, GMU appeals to me because it is close to Washington DC which I believe will allow me to get an internship during the school year rather than just over the summer. On the other hand, UVA appeals to me because of its name value. It’s a well-known school here in Virginia but also across the country. I feel it would help me get into a good grad school/law school.

Is GMU or UVA better for a major in politics? Also, which would be better to attend if I plan to attend grad school? Does going to one school over the other give me an advantage in getting a job?

UVA Definitely

GMU’s a good school, but it does not compare to UVA.
