George Mason, Virginia Tech, or VCU?

so my stats are
first generation
african american
3.7 gpa
1800 SAT, 590 math, 600 critical reading, 610 writing
26 ACT
tons of extracurriculars
I'm majoring in biology as a pre med student
and i want to be in state because I don't want to be in debt considering the cost of med school

as a pre med student, which school-VCU, VA tech, or GMU would be the best to attend?

my main concern about VA tech is the diversity and how obsessed everyone is with football (i actually detest football haha)

what do you all think about GMU or VCU? i worry about VCU because most kids that go there have lower stats than mine, and I dont want my good GPA and scores to go to waste..
and lastly for GMU, I heard the social life there sucks and the campus is dead on the weekends. I really like its campus though and the proximity to DC.

VCU truthfully is a good school. I would recommend going to Tech if you got in, but VCU’s life sciences are by far their most well-known department, and your proximity to internships will be unmatched in VA.

If you don’t care about internships I would check out JMU too, the social life their seems much better than at GMU and it’s probably right in your stat range. I’ve known several people who’ve gone to GMU as athletic recruits and absolutely hated it because of the lack of things to do and the sketchy neighborhood, one transferred to VCU and another to JMU.

Try for that guaranteed medical thing at VCU. I personally dont like VCU because it doesnt really have a campus. But there is at least some kind of campus life.
It’s cheap, too. With those scores I can all but guarantee that you will get free tuition. Maybe even room and board thrown in there.
