I looked on the website and it said to “Submit to our office signed copies of prior year federal tax returns and W2 statements for custodial parents (and step-parent, if applicable) and student (GW does not receive documents through the CSS Profile IDOC system). Estimated or draft copies of tax returns, or notifications of filing extensions are not accepted.”
It also said if you were to fax it, then you have to include your name and GWid (which I don’t have yet).
I called the office and they said that I wasn’t in their contacts or something so I didn’t have a GWid yet. They told me to include my name and social security on all the pages of the documents I send in.
Is this what other people are doing too? The process of doing this seems really tedious but I’m not sure what else I can do.
My DD is applying to GW but I haven’t submitted anything yet (other than putting GW on the FAFSA and CSS Profile). But I had to submit copies to other schools and I did exactly what you described (putting name and SSN on each page). I think that is important if you don’t have an ID yet so they can match it up to the application when received.
