I am thinking of applying to both schools and I intend to major in Anthropology with a minor in Politics because i Intend to go to Law school after so which one is preferable?
Well since you’ve said that you applying to Harvard, I guess that you are looking at either GWU or American for your safety?
And since you give no other metrics than the idea that you are going to major in Anthro and minor in Politics before you go to Law school, I assume that other features- size of school, type of environment, costs/financial aid, or specialization in Anthro- are irrelevant to you.
In which case, I would say that GWU is more highly ranked overall than AU (it also has stronger political links and an Anthro department more than twice as big as AU), so if it’s a safety you are looking for, AU is probably preferable to you.
fyi, though, AU doesn’t like being seen as a safety, so be sure to make a little effort or you might get a nasty surprise.
I’d say GW is the better school.
