Georgetown Essays!

Okay this is going to be my last question (I HOPE!)

The directions are to "compose and attach on separate pages two brief essays (approximately one page each) on the topics given below"

My personal essay is about a 1 1/4 pages single spaced, and my eessay for the business school is exactly 1 page single spaced.

When they said "approximately one page each" did they mean single-spaced, 1.5, or double? I think they usually prefer reading it when it's 1.5-spaced because it's less harsh on the eyes, but I don't want to be penalized for going over the limit...

What do you think? Should I just 1.5-space both essays so that one is 2 pages and one is a page and a half? I can also futz (is this a word?) with the margins a bit... haha

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN AND HOPEFULLY FOR THE LAST TIME :)
(love you guys!)

1 pg single spaced...just extend the margins on your 1.25pg essay.

oh yea, i love dogs more.

I did single-space for both--also, try a different font or size (arial as opposed to tr, 11 instead of 12 or something). one of mine is times and one is arial--hope they don't mind. i doubt they really care that much about format.

One of mine was probably a page and a half or more and they still took me. As long as it's interesting, concise, and doesn't go on forever I'm sure that the length requirements they give are more guidelines..

THANK YOU GUYS!! ahh i love georgetown, i'm editing my essay today and then the app is off!!

lol and Cstep i definitely love dogs more...

i have 4 dogs, volunteer at a shelter and have done 3 years of research in animal conservation.

i win.

oh no but i love dogs most... both of you guys lose

daisy is my life

i had so much to write that it was a singlespaced page. pt10. yea baby

Did you guys title your essays?

I put my name, the school I was applying to, SSN, GU ID, and "Essay One" or "Essay Two" etc..

Ohhhh okay good then i dont have to think of a pretentious title. Thanks!

OH wait also, it says "Attach your essays to the top of this page" (the last page of the app). Does that mean staple??????? Freaking out!! Need to know asap lol!

I think a paperclip would be a safe bet.

Hmm.. and where did you place your resume (if you included one)?

Ok, this is how I did it. I paper clipped all my documents inside the application (I have a bifold piece of paper Georgetown sent me). The order went:

Resume
Acitivity Essay
Essay One
Essay Two

And then I put my application fee check on the outside of the app itself.

i love that you guys all wonder the same crazy things as me... i attached all my other apps w/ a paperclip too... like i stapled together the 4-page application, 2-page essay, etc. but the whole thing was with a paperclip

and alanstewart, what do you mean you have a bifold piece of paper gtown sent you?

also, is it bad that i don't have a GU id? i only just sent my first part last week b/c i didnt realize you had to haha

oh i just realized its after 3 in the morning. ahh i have to wake up in less than 4 hours...

No, the admissions office will fill it in for you when you send in the rest.

I requested a copy of the application as to opposed downloading it off the internet, and it's all one piece of paper, kind of like a folder.
