Georgetown Law will drop requirement for LSAT scores

"In March, Harvard Law School announced that it would change admissions procedures and stop requiring the Law School Admission Test.

Months later, another highly ranked law school is following suit.

Georgetown University Law Center said in a statement Monday that it will start accepting the Graduate Record Examination as well as the LSAT. Prospective students for the 2018 entering class will be able to submit scores from either or both tests, according to a news release." …

Anything to get more kids to enroll in law school so that they can stay in business. No guarantee of a job after graduation.

I believe I read that there is a very high correlation between LSAT score and passing the Bar exam. I wonder what, if any, correlation there will be between the GRA and Bar exam passage?

^^it will be the same. High GRE scorers will do well.

Heck, I’d bet that there is a high correlation with SAT/ACT scores and bar passing. (Hint: all of those standardized tests are correlated with smarts.)

A few years ago, there was even a LSAT forecasting formula based SAT/ACT scores floating around the internet. If I recall, a 1400 (ignoring old Writing) would convert into a ~170.

btw;: gotta love the homer-ism of WaPo. I believe the Northwestern came out with their announcement before GULC.

Georgetown is an excellent law school but I am guessing their application numbers are down. Taking out loans for law school with no guarantee of job prospects is scary.
