Ok, this might be a dumb question. I just need some clarification on the Georgetown RD deadline: by January 10, do they mean 12:00 AM 1/10/2021 is the deadline or is it 11:59 PM on 1/10/2021? I’ve been looking for specifications all over the place.
11:59 pm on 1/10/2021. You have the whole of the 10th to work on it some more. I applied EA and I called and made sure for my deadline–we had until the very last day 11:59 pm. Good luck!
Our son received the following from Georgetown:
Georgetown University continues to welcome applications for the Class of 2025. With a Regular Decision deadline of January 10, 2021, there is still time to consider joining the Hoya community.
Since our deadline falls on a weekend, Georgetown will accept your Georgetown Application until 12pm ET on Monday, January 11th and your Georgetown Supplement through Wednesday, January 13th.
We are also happy to allow your counselor and teacher recommenders additional time, until Friday, January 15th, to submit your academic records and recommendations.
Maybe they do this every year, and perhaps that’s the most likely explanation, but as some of us were discussing on another thread, why do schools with large increases in apps then extend the deadline? (Georgetown was up 20% for EA.)
I don’t know for sure, but it seems like schools always see more apps as a good thing, especially schools that care about ranking. More apps = lower acceptance rates.
