Hi guys! I am a graduate from an honor’s college program I was in, two year institution designed to transfer students to prestigious schools. I just graduated yesterday and I have applied to the Georgetown Universities School for Foreign Service to study international politics.
Stats:
Major: International Relations
College GPA: 3.7
High School: 4.8 Weighted/3.3 Unweighted
SAT I: 1790
Letters of Rec from: International Relations professors, Academic adviser, and the College’s Dean who picks one student per campus of our program, I was her choice this year, with a total of 4 other students in a large student body.
Extracurricular: Fellowship with the Florida Democratic Party where I got to meet and introduce Pres. Bill Clinton and Barack Obama with a speech at a rally, referred to by a Congressman running for reelection who I interned for, also interned for another State Representative (Republican), served as Secretary for a nationwide pro-immigrant activist group on my campus, and an ambassador for a nationwide foundation on political activism and voter engagement on my campus. Got a couple of awards for investing 250+ hours into community service, one of those coming straight from the White House signed by Pres. Obama at the time.
Without delving into too much detail, I made my essays personal, about my struggles throughout high school, growing to become stronger through my struggles, and the passion it has brought to me to become a better global citizen and my aspirations to work in diplomacy.
