I’m literally going to DC on Friday because I’m doing Wreaths Across America Saturday morning so I REALLY need my letter to be there on Friday just so I know…
How many EA applications do they usually get?
@wannabeafrosh I read the other day somewhere (I forget where) that they accepted 923 of like 7264 or something along those lines
@letsgoooo thanks so much. Ugh.
@wannabeafrosh I think the EA acceptance rate is usually about 11%. Rip.
Ha ha yep. No chance for me. @justliviglife
@wannabeafrosh I’m feeling the same way, but try to stay positive until you know the decision!
Just gotta have hope!
Someone earlier on the thread said that letters to people that got accepted are priority mail and letters to people that got deferred are snail mail. They also said that the stamps are different? Can anyone verify this??
@behappyalways the only difference between the two is that the acceptance is .70 cents and the deferral is .46 cents. Those may not be the exact numbers, but it should be close. The reason for the price difference is of course because the acceptance is slightly heavier due to containing more papers.
If you’re referring to my comment about “snail mail” I just call any non-electronic mail, snail mail.
I believe they’re both priority. Their goal is to get the decisions out to everyone at around the same time regardless of it being an acceptance or deferral.
@justliviglife are they Priority or First Class? If Priority, then they should only take 1-2 days instead or 2-3. Yikes.
@apdns19 I honestly don’t know. I’m guessing first class
I thought someone said priority?
Guys, I totally understand the anxiety but I don’t think anyone on CC can 100% accurately predict when the letter is going to arrive at your house.
I don’t know if it’s first class or priority, that would be a good question for the current students.
@justliviglife I heard that it was .46 deferral, .64 acceptance but prices probably fluctuate from year to year. Fingers crossed!!!
I saw a giant USPS semi truck on the highway near my house and I’m terrified that my letter might be in there lol
Hey I just joined this and I live in Tampa Florida, should I expect mine on Friday or Saturday?
I’m not sure I live in Hialeah so you’re definitely getting it before me. I’m hoping it’ll come by Friday, latest Saturday. Depends on the local postal service and how fast they get to your neighborhood because sometimes my postal service is incrediblyyyy slow. @tborucke
Not that I expected it, but nothing in the mail today (MA)
DC/VA people? Anything?
DC area. Mail has not yet arrived.
