Georgetown University Transfer - Fall 2021

Wait I noticed when I click access account for my email it goes to the old portal. When you click logout at the bottom and resign in, then you see the new portal.

wait i also noticed that for the new portal, it says “We are so happy that you have submitted an application to Georgetown University for the Class of 2025.” not sure if someone already mentioned this but yeah that’s weird, it might be a glitch or something?

The same thing happened for me. Is there anyone who logs out and back in and doesn’t see the new portal? Otherwise this is probably just a weird glitch in their system.

Yep that happened to me too

Got it. Yes, I now see the new portal. I still tried to log in under the admitted students portal (followed the link on right hand side where it says welcome Hoyas). Access denied.

Anyone here applied to SFS?

it is most definitely a glitch because every time I log out and log back in by selecting log out at the bottom I get a message “We are so happy that you have submitted an application to Georgetown University for the Class of 2025.” Guys don’t think too much into this. This is a glitch because we are transfers.

I called today.

They were pretty vague. I brought up the fact that the website shows something about the orientation on May 15th for transfers, but he noted that they have it up there for general use. Apparently, some will know on June 1st while “some” will find out before.

I guess it depends on when you submitted/the order they went through them?

From the sounds of the way things have gone in the past, the people that were accepted were contacted first and those who were denied were contacted later. I could be wrong though.

I have also noticed this. At this point I just want to know either way. I have also read that some were waitlisted until almost August. It kinda seemed like a nightmare last year even after June 1st. Hopefully it will be better this year.

Also not sure why I am holding my breath. I definitely will not get in. Just did it for fun and I guess you never know.

Stay positive! You just may surprise yourself.

It’s the last day of April, so bizarre that we haven’t heard yet. I guess they are sticking to the May/June timeline  Do y’all think we will get a wave today?

I sure hope so. If not, it seems likely that they will start next week. Stay optimistic!!

I previously applied to Georgetown with low high school grades and high standardized testing scores. As a transfer, I applied to SFS with a 3.7 college GPA. Would low high school grades negatively impact my transfer application?

If you are applying into the sophomore class, it will have more influence than if you are applying into the junior class. You have great college GPA though!

I attended one of their transfer Q and As with their admissions heads from each school on Zoom and they said that they give much more weight on college grades and GPA because that is a better indicator of success at Georgetown than HS grades.
