Hi everyone! I haven’t seen any Georgetown Fall 2022 transfer threads so I thought I’d make one so we could all panic together during the application season lol. I also created a discord if anyone wants to join! (hopefully we can make subgroups for other schools once more ppl join)
hey,
Im applying to as a Language major but I only took up to precalculus in highschool and am now taking Finite Math as a frehsman in college. Do you guys recommend me taking calculus next semester?
Please “Chance Me” for a Georgetown Transfer Fall 2022
Currently a Freshman at American University with a 3.72 gpa so far. I also have a job & joined college clubs.
3.98 HS GPA
33 ACT
played sports and did clubs and volunteering in hs. Was an officer in some of those clubs.
I would have liked to get a higher gpa my first semester but I was ill right before finals. Will not have at least a 3.8 take me out of the running?
You’ll be totally fine. There’s people who have gotten in with much lower GPA’s!
D applying transfer after being waitlisted until Aug 2021! 4.0 GPA
First semester, club lacrosse and some volunteering, 34 ACT. Do they look kindly on those who denied at the very end of summer
?
I don’t think it has any affect! Best of luck to your daughter, she has great stats!
i have a 3.75 also:) your gpa is still good, something so minimal won’t cause an automatic denial. you have a great chance
daughter applied as a transfer fall 2022. do we have any past stats on accepted transfers? she has 4.0 at her current university (heavy STEM load), HS GPA 4.4, ACT 34, tons of EC in HS including captain of two varsity sports. she has a research project at her current college creating DNA origami for data storage. she had an interview, thinks it went well…but you never know!!
any inside scoop would be sooo appreciated!
I think it’s very difficult to tell who will be accepted and who won’t. With a transfer acceptance rate ~6% the students who get accepted and the students who get rejected frequently look the same on paper. There is more to an admission decision than student stats, e.g. the spaces in a school/major, some element of diversity the university is seeking to enhance, etc.
Did anyone else get an email saying the application deadline was extended to the 5th of March?
I did!
Hey the discord link has expired. Can you post a new one?
Does anyone know when decisions are released?
At the transfer webinar they said they’d start in early May through June 1st, which is consistent with the last few years.
is this because you hadn’t turned in your application yet?
Does that mean they’re doing rolling admissions?
They aren’t accepting applications on a rolling basis, but from what I heard at the webinar and have seen students in past years report, not all decisions come out at the same time for transfer students like they do for first years.
Oh yeah, that’s what I mean by rolling admissions. They release decisions on a rolling basis then.
Yes, it’s rolling. Through early May through early June I believe
When do decisions usually start to roll out?
