Awesome. Good luck to you. Really hoping for the best. What made you want to transfer? For me, I had an OK freshman year at a state school, but I know that it is not the perfect place for me. Georgetown has always been my dream school.
guess we are kind of twins? TBH I don’t have a SUPER strong reason but my motto for 2021 has been “treat yourself don’t cheat yourself” and I know I didn’t put my all into my applications for first-year it was not accurate to who I actually am (I barely finished the app) and I also know I am able and willing to attend a more challenging university than where I am at now… everything happens for a reason and if I don’t get it I don’t get in but at least I know this time there will be NO regrets.
Hey everyone,
I am getting very anxious waiting for the decision, as I’m sure we all are.
My interviewer told me I was one of his favorite interviewees “in recent memory”. How much weight do these interviewers have on our admission?
My GPA currently hovers around 3.85-3.9.
I’m also a Navy veteran (if that helps at all?)
I have letters of recommendation from two of my professors and a former commander from the Navy.
I didn’t submit my SAT/ACT because it’s been more than 5 years.
Do y’all think my chances are pretty good?
Do they want veterans?
Thank You
I am not sure what admissions is necessarily looking for in the applicants, but if it was my own choice I would admit you! You have some really impressive accomplishments which in all likelihood will not go unnoticed. Good luck!
Does anyone know when they’re releasing decisions.
Heard mid to late May
Maybe they’ll step it up. Northwestern and Vanderbilt both released a wave today.
Like rd I feel like this year there may be an influx of applicants(??) I also feel like it’s gonna come down to the rest of the application cuz everyone is in 3.8-4.0 range and that makes me nervous but
I wish everyone here the best results regardless
Thank you for your kind words!
Where’s the word on that coming from?
I actually think that u being in the army is a leg up tbh a lot of colleges respect/appreciate transfer applicants that have good stats AND have served but again I’m no officer.
Called and also apparently due to some late applications and they said as of now which can change they would fully finish the review process mid to late May “finish the process” I’m assuming means releasing decisions. Notification date on the portal says June 1 but oml am I hoping that’s inaccurate. I don’t want them to rush but tbh I don’t come in 1st place at the Waiting Games lol stressed.
Yea its always published as june1 but typically begin releasing third week of April hopefully they arent too backed up this year
Well, they had huge increases in admissions, but I’m not sure if this includes transfers. What school did you apply to?
msb which seemingly always comes out last anyway so ill b waiting for a while
I hope this is true!
Do both Northwestern and Vanderbilt do rolling decisions based on order of submitting the application? Both schools had their deadlines only a week ago so that would be too soon of a decision for anyone who submitted at the deadline.
I’m not familiar with Northwestern’s deadline but Vanderbilt’s “priority” or “encouraged” deadline was March 15th (they continue to review apps submitted after until the class closes in the summer). The Vanderbilt decisions are rolled out in batches. Seems like they give the accepted students a couple weeks to accept and then they release the next group of decisions.
I don’t think decisions are definitely issued based on the order apps are received, but if you just applied it’s less likely you’ll hear as soon as someone who applied by the deadline.
Does anyone know if they are doing mail-in acceptance, or are they doing emails?
My understanding is that the acceptance notifications will be through email/portal.
