where can you find your specific rep?
never mind, found it. i just called the admissions office requesting an early read and they gave me my rep’s contact info so new news for me, thanks! ALSO, did anyone else’s application reference number disappear from their portal?
Great! No, my number is still there.
I’m unfamiliar with what the leaning decisions and early reads are. Could anyone fill me in? Thank you!
Same here!
How did you find out who your admissions rep was?
In the past Georgetown has provided students with early reads which is basically them saying the admissions committee is either leaning to accept you, deny you, or put you on the wait list. It’s supposed to be like an unofficial decision. Usually you have to provide the proof that you need the early decision so for me I sent them a copy of my decision letter from American University saying that they want a decision by April 28th.
do you think a letter saying I need to decide by May 15th is soon enough to ask for one? one of my top choices needs a decision by then but it’s still pretty far away.
tbh im not entirely sure!
I think they said that the transfer admissions committee would be wrapping up in mid-may anyway
“a few days in advanced” meaning before when you need to commit to the other school or before when they’re officially releasing a first wave?
I don’t think they would hold off on giving me a read based on the other school’s date because I need to make a decision by next week… I think she meant the first wave of decisions
Since they told you to contact them Friday or Monday and they give them “a few days in advance” that the first round of decisions will be next week?
so did anyone get their decision today?
Nope
I mean probably? Take what I say with a grain of salt though- it is all speculation. I can update after I talk to the rep on Friday though.
How many of you guys are also currently freshmen?
hey i am currently
do you guys know what day they might release decisions? like is it rolling or set? im so nervous lool
I think they said mid may not sure though
