Georgetown's 3-2 Combined Plan w/ Columbia?

How practical is this program? Does it end up being a lot of extra credits, etc? Does the extra year (and thus tuition) to get a degree make it excessively impractical when that year could have been spent working, getting a masters or MBA, etc..?

Other options are Johns Hopkins' ChemBE program and UCLA's ChemE program... Just looking into the practicality of the Combined Plan and how a Columbia engineering degree compares to one from UCLA or Hopkins.
