I’ve read and also my friends college counselor said that Georgia is accepting a lot of OOS students as well as west coast kids due to the low number applying. Any truth to this? Considering UGA as my reach/ultra reach school. Thanks.
I would think that this isn’t true, only because there is no way to know how many applying since the application deadline still isn’t over. Where did you read this?
Our HS councilor actually said the exact opposite. (We have a great guidance dept and they usually are up on these things). She said that it is becoming harder and harder for OOS state students to get into UAG because of their state lottery scholarship (similar to UNC). She said several kids with high GPAs and ACTs in the 30’s have been denied from our state (New Mexico) in past years. My son goes to a highly ranked private school and every class is considered an honors class. He applied anyway as it is one of his top 2 choices (the other is Alabama). Just apply. You never know what will happen, and good luck!

My OOS D likes UGA a lot as well and will be applying. During our Admissions info session, they made a point to say instate and out of state are reviewed exactly the same.
Hope it works out that way! Good luck to all applying.
Me too. Thank you for that information and I hope that is correct! We have not been on the tour yet but plan on attending the “First Look” day next month.
my friends college counselor and the red and black wrote an article. Another website too but i forget

My son applied EA to UGA and on his tour was told the chances of OOS admission are very low, but not impossible. It
