how friendly is georgia state's atmosphere to liberals? are people into indie music... you know like little five points stuff? i hate the term but i guess ultimately is it "hipster" friendly? feel free to suggest any other schools in atlanta.

bump ?

hmmm..check out emory... or uga. idk about the liberal stuff..but usually our state schools have a lot of diversity, of course, i haven't actually been on a campus for like an actual visit. when i was working at gstate, seemed like a lot of hiphop and stuff...but then again, i wasn't paying attention, and i was an office assistant so i spent a lot of time working with the professor.

From what I've seen, the people I have spoken to, yes, GA State is very liberal, hipster-friendly. It is in the middle of downtown ATL, so it brings all the 'urban flavor' - in every sense of the word, good and bad, that that expression brings.

Early on, that was the only school my d would consider because of it's 'hippie' feel. She changed her mind after the campus tour. It is not at all a campus-y type campus. Being located in downtown ATL, a lot (most) of the class-room buildings are reclaimed office buildings. To me, it felt like going to work in NYC, except I would be going to class.

There are a lot of clubs - both urban/hip-hop and indie in downtown ATL - so music should not be a big issue for you.

Very little green space - and what green there was was being occupied as 'outdoor living'.

Hope this helps.
