Hello! I’m sorry for bothering again, but I just received my SAT Math 1 and Math 2 Subject Test, and I got an 800 on both of them. Now, I have a bunch of extracurricular activities, decent teacher recommendations, good SAT/ACT scores, a good essay, and a bunch more but my problem is this: My GPA is a 3.0 UW (and a 4.0 W).
I know that I will have to work hard to get accepted, and I know it is not easy to get accepted (especially RD for Georgia Tech). However, my only question is this: Will getting an 800 in both Math 1 and Math 2 SAT Subject test increase/better my chance of getting into Georgia Tech? How about Carnegie Mellon?
I also know that 2 scores won’t make them automatically accept me, but I’m just curious if it might make me seem like an OK/semi-decent applicant (and make up for my GPA) and increase my chance of getting accepted, even if it is just a 0.000001% chance increase.
@MathFan21 SAT is 2020 (720 Math, 670 Reading, 630 Writing), but I know it’s bad, so I’m going to send my ACT, in which I got a 32 (35 Math, 33 English, 32 Writing, 31 Reading, 29 Science).
@MathFan21 Thank you for your insight. My courses are quite rigorous, I’ve taken about 14 APs (mostly in the STEM field, I take those in place of electives) in total from freshman to senior year, and for math (probably the most relevant for Georgia Tech & Carnegie Mellon), I’ve taken AP Stats (5), and currently taking AP Calculus AB. I also want to take the AP Calculus BC exam since I’m learning that alongside AP Calculus AB.
