Georgia Tech Class of 2027 Official Thread

Given all of the above, they do not offer OOS seats. Looks like they are trying to increase in-state enrollment using FYSA.

I dont think so. One of our sons said yes and the other said no to FYSA option and both got off the wait list on May 4th for FYSA. One of them accepted and the other declined.

I think so. The Atlanta campus is full per my daughter’s waitlist letter so the chances of getting off the waitlist and onto the Atlanta campus is near zero.

We have not received any email, OOS wait list process closed .

Hello, I was all set to join Georgia Tech for fall this semester for Environmental Engineering. I just got off the waitlist for Environmental engineering at UC Berkeley. I am now confused. Both universities are out of state for me and no financial aid. I am from the east coast so Georgia tech is closer to home. Both are great universities. Berkeley is ranked no.1 for environmental engineering based on US news. If you were in my shoes what would you do?

I would disregard the rankings as at that level they are irrelevant. I would consider fit as the most important.

Georgia Tech is probably half the size of Berkeley undergrad. Berkeley will have a larger international population and Berkeley is also a good bit more expensive if you’re paying full freight.

Georgia Tech is very collaborative. Not sure about Berkeley.

I would zero in on where you think you would be the happiest and go there.

Thanks for letting me know. I haven’t received any communication whatsoever. They said they would let us no in early May but nothing yet

The waitlist can go on this mid summer or later. They will send an email when they close the waitlist.

Thanks @VirginiaBelle. The cost is definitely very high for Berkeley. Its $75,000K per year. Planning to go to Georgia tech. Most likely will decline UC Berkeley.

Just received an email from them.saying their classes are full but they offer me the option of
The Talent Initiative Pathway Program.whixh means i start with an accredited usa univ and then transfer ifni have a good gpa.did anyone get this as well?and how sure is it we will get a spot? I am an international student and i do not want to go to the usa start in a regular univa nd then they bounce me out.what do you say?

I can’t speak to your transfer chances, but do you already have admission to another accredited U.S. university that is affordable to you? If not, this transfer option doesn’t help you.

If you do have an affordable acceptance and you start college there, you can stay on and graduate from there if the transfer to GT doesn’t come through. No one will bounce you out.
