Georgia Tech Financial Aid Question

As I was filling out the GT Application for Scholarships and Financial Aid, I noticed that under “Application Certifications” it said, “I agree that should I receive a scholarship that requires a thank you letter or has stewardship activities, I will fully participate.”

I’m a bit confused about the wording of this statement. Does it mean that if I were to receive a scholarship with an acceptance letter that I would be binded to commit toGeorgia Tech? Thanks!

Scholarships sponsored by private donors often require that the recipient write a thank-you letter to the donor(s), and possibly attend a scholarship donor luncheon or similar event. This would occur after you’ve been offered and accepted the scholarship - the scholarship office could tell you any specific requirements.

I know a family that sponsors a scholarship at a public school. Every year they drive to the campus and have a lunch with the recipients.
