Georgia Tech (full ride) vs Carnegie Mellon CS (AI track) vs Brown vs Cornell

I know that the obvious choice is to take STAMPS to GT, but I feel like I need to know that I will not regret and wonder what if I chose a school like CMU or Cornell… I would in CompE (with CS threads: Automation and Cybersecurity) at GT, CS in AI, and CompE at both Brown and Cornell. Basically, I want to gain an engineering background and go into AI one day.

Am I stupid to give up these schools for GT? (I am from the Northeast)

I absolutely LOVE the people at GT and the “true engineering school” atmosphere, but the weather in Atlanta, the city, and the much larger school are just things I am considering.

I know that I am 99% sure I will commit to GT, but is this the smartest choice long term?

Thank you!

Are the others at list price?

Yes, only received the Meinig Family Cornell National Scholar award which is only about $4,000 per year. My family is in no means able to afford it, so I would be responsible for the list price - 15k-20k

If the others are unaffordable, then the full ride is the obvious choice.

GT for the win. Congrats.

I’d grab the Stamps scholarship and run to GT. Congratulations!

Congratulations!!!

Just take the GT scholarship and don’t look back. You’re not missing a thing. And I promise, you’re not going to miss the debt. Best of luck at GA Tech!

As far as size is concerned, Georgia Tech isn’t much bigger than Cornell. It doesn’t get much better than Georgia Tech. Congratulations!

It sure doesn’t get much better than Georgia Tech for CS. You just set yourself up for a great future. Enjoy the next few years and congrats on your GT acceptance!
