Georgia Tech vs Cornell for BME

Hi! I’m admitted to Georgia Tech, Cornell, and Swarthmore. I’d like to study biomedical engineering so I’m considering GT and Cornell.
I know GT offers excellent BME education, city experiences, and warm weather but Cornell is Ivy, has a good orchestra (I play the violin), and rich in outdoor experiences. I’m really not sure which to choose.

I live in Japan so I can’t visit the campus before May 1. So I’d appreciate any advice. Thank you!

A degree at Cornell would probably mean a bit more than one at GT, just because it is ranked higher and has an overall better standing. They are both generally regarded very highly though in most companies, so either one would give you great job opportunities.
The thing is that they have different environments. I live very close to GT and have visited the campus many times. It has an urban, city type feel, since it’s based in Downtown Atlanta. There is a lot to do both on the campus and outside of it in Atlanta. I heard that there’s some parts of the city near Georgia State, which is nearby, that are somewhat dangerous at night. It’s just a big city with a lot to do, so you should read more about Atlanta and how it is there. Cornell, on the other hand, is pretty isolated, quieter, and has more of a rural feel. I heard that they have a college town at Cornell, so you could look into that if you’re looking for an urban environment.

It just depends on what kind of experience you want, if you want an urban, city-like feel, then go for GT. If you want an isolated, rural feel go for Cornell.
