Georgia Tech vs UGA Honors Program - What school should I be at?

I was rejected by Georgia Tech but was offered a Transfer program that guarantees the admission for the Fall of my sophomore year as long as l meet their transfer requirements. I am currently at UGA for my first year, but still thinking about transferring to Tech. I recently got into the UGA’s Honors Program, which is apparently worth staying for. I want to do business related majors, and although I know Terry College of Business is amazing, I don’t know what I should do. The only thing that’s holding me back from fully wanting to transfer to Georgia Tech is the UGA Honors Program, but I don’t know if it’s really worth staying for.

It’s only been a few months at UGA, but have you started to make connections? Joined Greek Life, become a football fan, joined clubs? If you are settled in, I think that’s a big consideration as you’d have to do all that again if you transfer.

UGA showed you the love. I’d stay there if you like it.

I’m not that big of a football fan nor am I big on Greek life. I am in student organizations but I haven’t really bonded with any group of friends. I’m mainly focusing on the academics and what’s better for me in the long run. Personally, I feel more comfortable at Tech, but I’m just not sure if I’m making a right choice by leaving the Honors Program.

@gacollege1721 I just received my early decision results, and also got a conditional transfer. I, however, am going to be a freshman this year. I wanted to get your opinion on this: do you think it’s better to be deferred or given cond. transfer? I can’t technically say I was accepted to tech, but I wasn’t rejected either. So I’m not too sure what to think. Important side note: I am totally going to take the transfer next year, I just wanted to see what you thought since you were in the same boat as me and have been through that waiting period for the condition to matter.

@plxsendhelp I mean just wait for the regular admission to come out. Say for instance you do get rejected, and you got offered with a condition transfer, I’d say take it. Because, think about this, if you get rejected, you basically have a year to enjoy freshmen year at another college, see how that college is, and you can make a decision whether you want to transfer or stay. You get the best of both world for seeing two different schools.
