GeorgiaTech versus NUS (your comments will be profoundly appreciated)

Hi !

I aspire to pursue second bachelors degree and for that I intend to apply at both of the prestigious universities. Other A grade universities of USA will not allow me to do a second bachelors. I want to enroll myself in Electrical or Computer Engineering department. If I compare according to QS university world ranking (especially by subject) then GeorgiaTech is way behind than NUS but students usual targets are US universities for various sensible reasons. I'm an Asian and education, living and miscellaneous costs at NUS are lower compared to GeorgiaTech. Moreover, NUS offers numerous loans, bursaries, scholarships etc. to international students but GeorgiaTech does not provide any such facilities (only privatized loans are available through third-party). If I earn the chance to get myself admitted at both of the universities then which university should I choose?

Thanks a lot! Have a wonderful day!

What is NUS?

Its the National University of Singapore.

Go with NUS. Its much cheaper, has high international reputation and excellent engineering programs. Its comparable to HKU.

Where do you want to work ?

NUS if you can deal with the heat in Singapore.

All things being equal, I’d go with NUS. It does have a good reputation.

While Georgia Tech is respected, I don’t know that “prestigious” is a word I’d use to describe it. On the other hand, if your main objective is to work and live in the US, you’d probably have an edge by going to school in the US. There’s lots of talk about making it easier for foreign students who get science and engineering degrees at US universities to stay, and I suspect that will actually occur within the next year or two.

Why a second Bachelors? Why not a Masters?
