Is this major glutted or in demand?

Also, I would appreciate feedback from those who did major in Geoscience or something very similar to it.

What are the pros and cons?

Perhaps the surveys here may help:

Though the major may not be named the same everywhere (e.g. “Earth and Planetary Science” at UC Berkeley).

My oldest son is a sophomore Geology major at California State University Sacramento and at this point I think he has taken more Calculus courses than Geology courses. He is trying to minor in Math and plans to take additional Physics courses to those required for a Geology degree as well. He told me that from what he has heard, there is considerable demand for Geology and Geoscience graduates who have particularly strong credentials in Math and Physics. Oil companies especially want the Geology graduates they hire to be able to utilize highly quantitative methods to explore for oil and gas deposits.

I think at CSUs the requirements for a physics major are so low he can straight up double in geology and physics.
