german r5a with toth

hi guys im jw if anyone has taken german r5a (mwf 8-9) with toth b/c im trying to decide whether to take that class or take my south asian r5a (mwf 3-4) (im indian btw) which seems easy based on online reviews. toth doesnt have many comments online so does anyone know much about him cuz the description of the course had all these big words i dont understand lol. thanks

I had Toth for a couple of classes when I was at Cal. He's overall an excellent teacher and grades fairly. He isn't an easy A for German language courses, but German R5A is generally known as a gimme class. Just go to class, show up, and participate. He's pretty nice and fairly easy to please.

I had toth for German R5B and he was one of the best professors I have had so far. I loved going to class. We had 2 short papers and an easy midterm and pretty much everyone got an A. His Hungarian accent is very funny. I would recommend taking the class.

wow ok. looks like im in luck heh thanks guys

Who were you thinking for South Asian R5A? I had Govind this summer for R5B and he was okay. He's terrible with writing legible/organized notes on the board, but is pretty nice and helpful. It might be different with R5A in the Fall, but for R5B in the summer the longest paper we had to write was 6 pages (the others were 3, 4, and 5 pages, and one 8 page paper comprised of 2-3 "essay" questions), which isn't too bad. I'm not sure how I did on the final paper or two, but I got an A- on the other papers and still pulled an A in the class.

Are you a morning person? A turn-off for me would be the fact that your German R5A section is 8 a.m....

I have mena (i asked a friend and she told me that mena is literally a cakewalk) and yea i did south asian r5b too this summer cxept my guy was named abhijeet paul and he was like a rhetoric professor so im trying to get away from that lol. + i like early morning classes haha i get up at 630 every day

6:30..? so early lol. i have toth too.. 8 is alright.. i think.. after going through 0 period in high school.. 8 shouldn't be a problem..
