Okay, I'm thinking about W&M and I saw on the website that the GER6 is all about arts. I am not an artsy person and most of the classes looked like ones I would not enjoy. Do any students who aren't into the arts feel like there are classes in this area that aren't too bad? Or are they all for people who are interested in art as they seem from the descriptions?

There are classes such as Creative Writing or Public Speaking that you can take that fulfill GER 6. I agree, it sounds bad at first, but there are fairly easy ways out of it if you aren't an "artsy" person.

Good, I'm interested in neuroscience and W&M seems great for that. I didn't want that one thing to ruin it for me.

Similarly, I'm not much of a science person (with the exception of physics). What sort of classes (specifically biological sciences) are available as gen-eds for non-science people? I wouldn't imagine we'd have to take Bio101 with all the Pre-Meds or anything, right?

A lot of people do take Gen Bio and Gen Chem, but I personally really dislike science. You need to take a physical science and a natural science. I took Geology for my physical science, and Psychology as a Natural Science for my natural science. Really, you shouldn't worry too much about GERs. They won't be much difficulty.

Public Speaking is a favorite way to fulfill the GER 6, however the class sizes are really small and there is only room for about 60 students per semester. If you happen to play an instrument, you can also take lessons and fulfill GER 6 that way.

For science, Intro Psych as a Natural Science fulfills the natural science requirement, and then Geology or Astronomy with the associated lab seems to be the easiest way to fulfill the science requirements for those who are not science people.

this can answer all of your Ger Class questions!!!
