Hey, I'm going to Sixth College this Fall. I don't know anybody who go to the same college with me, I get no advice and I really need some
I have no idea.. :( ok there is a,,, Freshman Core Sequence class!? man I just have no idea what to take first or which teacher I should learn from.. (by the way it's impossible for me to find the strange ge teachers in ratemyprofessor..T_T)
my major is undecided, but looking into business/economics major. I don't wanna be stressed at the beginning, just wanna have some 'relaxed' classes and see what happens.
For those of you guys who are in sixth, please help me out!!! Thanks

I’m a visual arts major. Here’s what I took my first quarter. ICAM is the only class specific to my major; the rest all satisfy the Sixth college GE’s:

CAT 1
ICAM 40
MATH 10C
MUS 4

I’m not in Sixth but I pulled up their GE requirement page so maybe I can help you out. Tell us if you passed any AP tests as that will potentially change the classes you need to take

Everybody in Sixth is required to take CAT 1, 2, 3, and 125 so taking CAT 1 would be a good idea.

Since you’re considering economics as a major, I would take either ECON 1 or 3. Those are required classes for econ majors and one of those will satisfy one of Sixth’s Social Analysis GE.

The econ major also requires the MATH 10 series (or 20 series if you really wanted) and one of those classes will satisfy Sixth’s Structured Reasoning GE.

Other than that, you could also take another GE. I’ll give you the link for the GE requirements so you can look at what classes you can take. So your schedule would look something like this. And remember, if you passed some AP tests you might be exempt from certain requirements.

CAT 1
ECON 1 or 3
MATH 10A
GE

Your first quarter of college it’s best to do just GE’s. You don’t want to screw up your important Econ classes.

CAT 1- you have to take

I recommend getting the requirement done- I forget what it’s called but some of the options are Ethnic Studies or Gender Studies or Asian Studies----- It’s a really lame easy requirement. I recommend getting that one out of the way.
