So this may be a ridiculous question because I have no clue how it works.

I am in CC now and getting my Gen Ed A.A then transferring to a University to finish my 2 years and hopefully pick whatever degree. Say I don't like it after college, can I just go back and complete another 2 years and receive a different degree? Or do I have to go back and finish another 4 years?

I know this is ridiculous to ask but maybe that's how it works, just wondering. Thanks in advance.

Its a waste of money and time, but yes its possible

You wouldn’t have to retake your general education requirements so long as they transferred to the school you’re getting a second degree at.

Most people get a masters degree in the other subject.

After you get one undergraduate degree. Then degrees in a related field can be rather easy to acquire. But since the job market normally only rewards one degree at a time then it’s essentially the same money for extra education. But then again isn’t knowledge its own reward?

In most cases, you might have to take some classes to meet prerequisite requirements, but you wouldn’t have to redo your whole degree. It would depend on your field though.

Yes, you can get two AA degrees though it seems like a waste. You shouldn’t have to repeat gen ed classes so it should take you less than the full two years.

I meant as in Bachelors. Since I have wll Gen Ed done I could easily do the pre reqs and finish a different degree.

I haven’t quite decided what major I want to do but I figure it’s beneficial to have two similar bachelor’s then 1 masters. Maybe I’m wrong?

If it helps, I’m looking at a job in Law Enforcement. Mostly government related.

I have two bachelors. I only did it because I could finish in four years so I figured why not. It hasn’t helped or hindered IMO.

bachelor + master’s >>>>> 2 bachelors
