Getting a job as a CS major

I'm a high school senior and I'm having a tough time deciding which college I should attend. Right now I'v narrowed it down to 3 : USC, UCSD, and Santa Clara university. all for Computer science.

The main thing for me is taht i want to go to the college which will help me get a good job when I'm done with my MS ( I plan to do the 5 year BS/MS program wherever i go).
In this case, I won't techinacally go to a grad school as I'll be getting my MS in 1 extra year after my undergrad while still in the same college.
What do companies exactly look at? Do they care if you attend a more prestigious/higher ranked school? Or does it go by pure skill level? Does the name of the school really matter?
Right now, USC might be getting out of the question for me as it is too expensive so I'm left with UCSD and SCU. many ppl are telling me UCSD should be a no brainer, but looking at what is happening with the UC system and the possibility of not graduating in 4 years makes it hard to choose UCSD. SCU is offering me a sufficient amoutn of scholarship money so itll still be cheaper than UCSD. I'm having a hard time deciding where I should go.

If the college name really matters at the end, I would prolly end up going to a higher ranked college, but if it doesn't I'd rather go to the college where I'm getting an education and where i'm not seen as a number or statistic.

please please help me! any advice is appreciated!!

“Do they care if you attend a more prestigious/higher ranked school?”

 • Sure they do, but it’s not a deal breaker provided you did well and possess demonstrable skills and relevant qualifications.

“Or does it go by pure skill level?”

 • They won’t know a lot about your skill level, but in general, yes, your GPA, extracurriculars, projects, and experience will count a fair deal. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if someone from Tennessee State was to get a job over an MIT grad if the GPA, extracurriculars, experience, etc. went the Tenn. guy’s way. Ceteris paribus, though, I’d assume that the MIT carries some weight.

The answer to your question is that you can go to either UCSD or SCU and get a fantastic CS education resulting in a good job after graduation. Stranger things have happened.
