Getting a job in the east.

Hey guys, I currently live in NJ, and was wondering if the school you go to can dictate where you work. When I graduate I want to come back and work in NYC or close by. My intended major will be finance. I am considering Penn State(Smeal), Maryland(Smith), UIUC, and Michigan. IF I do not get into Michigan, then I would have to choose one of the others listed.

Right now if I don't get into Michigan, I am leaning towards either Smeal or Smith. Would it be better to go to either Maryland or Penn State to get a job in the east or does it even matter? Would recruiters look by region more favorably?
Same thing goes for internships as well. I want to intern in the east since I really won't be able to live away when I am on summer break or whatever.

I would guess Penn State over Maryland? Maryland seems to be more DC/Baltimore oriented.

recruiters for what? for ibanking and consulting, Maryland wins for being a primary hunting ground for some financial institutions. But then i have to say i am not sure about penn state, but i havent been able to find their name on any college recruiting lists thus far

By recruiters I mean just companies in general who hire people who major in finance. I don't know what I want my career to be yet.

And Penn State scares me. Their site really tells nothing about Smeal undergrad so I really know nothing about them. When I go see the campus later on, I'll ask them about their recruiting.

bump who else?

i feel that sites should represent their school becuase that is what first grabs your attention when students are searching for schools, which mainly happens online.

bump......
