I applied to LSU back in October and my file was complete by 10/28/2021. I know someone who applied the same time I did and has already gotten in, but I’ve received absolutely nothing from admissions aside from access to the portal. When I emailed the admissions office I received a canned email.
Extremely frustrated because I’ve gotten 5 acceptances already from other ‘rolling’ schools in the time it’s taken for them to get to mine.
Did you try counselor for your region?
Frustrating, keep being patient. Good luckz https://www.lsu.edu/admissions/connect/meet-your-admissions-counselor.php
“ Set up a 1-on-1 appointment virtually or over the phone with your LSU Admissions Counselor, who will answer your questions and provide more information on the application process, next steps, and life at LSU.

I would definitely reach out via phone and talk to a human. My daughter applied end of October and was accepted (status update portal) by Thanksgiving, although we’ve yet to get packet in the mail. It is possible there is some glitch with your app- it can happen as it happened to my daughter with other schools (had to do with her school email and their system somehow, an IT issue), but had we not reached out, she would have never known! Good luck!
Currently in the same boat as well. I really want to go to LSU because it’s extremely close to home. But I am fixing to throw in the towel. I applied October 27th and followed up with them on November 14th, they emailed back and said it’s under review and applications are going through a holistic process. It’s been a month since then. It’s frustrating because I’ve heard back from plenty of other colleges and received great scholarships from them but I am still anxious about LSU because I do not want to live on campus at other schools and I’m such a homebody.
That sounds frustrating. Remember thought that are thousands of applications. You’ve confirmed that you received it and it is possible you may not hear anyting for another few months if you werent in their first round of accepts. They may be waiting to see how many applicants w/d applications after ED dates pass this week. Good luck.
That’s really frustrating, Connor, and disappointing I’m sure. Don’t give up hope just yet. I think it’s just a mess these days in college admissions. I’m happy to hear you already have some other admissions, though.
I’d also add that although I know it feel like an eternity since you applied 10/28, that’s just about 6 weeks now (and one of those weeks- Thanksgiving- I doubt not much moved.) I would think it’s peak applicant time and I don’t think 6-8 weeks could be out of question to hear back. Seems like SEC schools are getting slammed. Hang in there.
“For applications from before 15 January, you might hear back from us anytime from middle February to even as late as May.”
I think that if you really want to go to LSU, patience is the order of the day. Unless you are facing a deadline from a school that is your second choice, I don’t see that there’s anything else you can do.
