<p>School's starting in 2 weeks(quarter system. Weird huh?). I haven't worked out in about 2 years so I'm a little bit on the unfit side. Some useful info: I'm of above average strength, 6.0 ft tall and weigh 200 lbs. From your experience, is there any way to slim down and tone up in 2weeks? I'm willing to eat right and spend hours daily to work out(I'm not trying to be sculpted like a greek statue or anything; I just want to look attractive).</p>
<p>You need to save about 7000 calories to lose 2.2 pounds of fat. If you "saved" 2000 calories every day for 14 days, you could lose 4 pounds of fat. In reality you would lose more weight than that, but mainly in the form of water and muscles. During every work-out, your body actually burns muscle mass for energy, and needs a break and enough nutrients afterwards to rebuild the muscle. If you are on a diet with limited protein and calorie intake, the lost muscle mass would not be restored. So no, it is not possible to lose a lot of weight fast and tone up at the same time, despite of what various commercials might suggest.</p>

<p>run/jog everyday, try to go 3-4 miles or more. speed is not a factor, just try to finish without walking. You can lose a lot of weight this way.</p>
<p>If you're running, work up slowly so that joints get stronger over time. Doing too much without working up can result in injury that makes it harder to work out. Use of aerobic machines can be easier on the joints.</p>

<p>It takes much more than two weeks to lose weight and/or tone up. Plus, usually you can do one or the other, but not both effectively at the same time. Gaining muscle takes eating enough calories to cover your bodies normal burning, plus what you burn by working out. Losing fat takes eating less calories than your bodu burns... and though 3500 calories 'equals a pound of fat' the human body isn't able to burn much more than 1 pound of fat a week without also losing muscle mass. Hence why it isn't possible to do both. I would suggest instead of crash dieting/over-exercising for two weeks (not healthy for your body at all!) that you make it your goal to be more healthy for this entire next quarter/semester/year and in doing that and taking it slow, you could both gain muscle and lose inches. Also note, there is really no such thing as 'toning' your muscles. You either gain muscle, or lose muscle, and gaining muscle mass is not synonymous with big, bulging weight-lifter muscles, so don't think of that when thinking of gaining muscle. Also, when building muscle you can't exercise every day, as the muscles need a day to repair in between, then once a week 2 days off in a row is good too, also eat extra protein to help heal the muscles faster (muscle is gained/toned by the muscle being damaged while working out, and having to heal the tears makes it bigger/stronger).</p>
<p>You won't see noticeable results in 2 weeks. Although you can lose a lot of water weight and appear less bloated.</p>
<p>Don't worry that much about looking better in two weeks. If you see a noticeable difference in two weeks you'll lose it in four. Get on a steady diet/workout plan and stick to it.</p>
<p>I lost about 20 pounds over the summer in about a month. Try a stationary bike for an hour in the evening (and then later on add elliptical machine for half an hour and less bike) and a long, hour-ish walk in the morning. And, um, stop eating junk food. So I don't care what others here tell you, you can see noticeable results in two weeks. If the calorimeters on the machines were any reliable indication, I burned about 400-550 calories per gym workout.</p>
<p>Of course, that requires that you have reliable access to a gym or that you have that kind of equipment at home. Oh, and I don't care what the voices inside your head tell you, it's okay to eat junk food one day a week.</p>

<p>... you lost almost a pound a day (assuming you didn't gain any muscle, which means you lost more?) It's pretty widely considered unhealthy to try to lose more than 2 pounds a week.</p>
<p>2 lbs of tissue per week... not 2 lbs of weight. I'm sure that he loss an ass load of water (and even glycogen and some other stuff) included in that 20 lbs. Although that's still a big loss for a month.</p>
