Getting from Covel Commons to Young Hall in 10 mins?

I wasn't paying much attention to the locations of my classes when I signed up during orientation and just found that it'd take me ~ 15 mins to walk from Covel to Young... [~.8 mi]

Problem is I only have a 10 minute space between the classes, assuming the first class ends on time.

Should I try to switch into a different class? Or just stay with my current schedule and run to class?

Thanks.

Walk all the way down Charles E. Young Drive (walk down from Covel, go right) until you hit Strathmore. Make a left on Strathmore and walk up Strathmore until you hit Westwood Plaza. Cross Westwood Plaza, and continue to go up Strathmore (go to the right). You can walk in between Engineering IV and Parking Lot 6 until you hit a staircase that will lead you up to the Court of Sciences/Young. There is less foot traffic this route and I can usually make it in 10 minutes walking at a decent pace. You could always skateboard/bike this route if you are able. You can rent a bike from the UCLA Bike center for $45/quarter. There are places to lock up your bike at the bottom of the aforementioned staircase as well as in the Court of Sciences.

I’ve actually found that route to be slower than going down Charles E Young on the north side of the IM field, then cutting across Wilson Plaza and going up the mini staircases next to Janss Steps. This gets you right in front of PAB, and would regularly save me 2-3 minutes each morning.

Speaking of geography, does anybody else recognize the grassy area sometimes known as Meyerhoff Park? Or does the name fade into obscurity and get replaced by something like “Janss Steps hills” or “Behind SAC”?

I had never heard it called that… never even knew it had a formal name.

Interesting, phospholipase. I’ve never heard anyone use that name. Where did you learn that from?
