UCLA classes

Is anyone here knowledgeable about the whole ucla campus. I'm wondering is it possible to get from Lekretz hall to public affairs in under 10 minutes and public affairs to WGyoung in 10 minutes. The orientation counselor said 10 minutes was enough to get to each class and it would seems three of my classes are aligned that I would only have 10 minutes to get from one to the other. So what I'm wondering is this possible to do without being late to class as I'm quite bad with maps and it would seem the walking distance from each hall is quite far....

Yeah I think you could get from LaKretz to Public Affairs and from Public Affairs to Young in less than 10 minutes (it’ll be cutting it close), but you’ll have to walk fast, especially for the former, as LaKretz is slightly farther from Public Affairs than Young. If your previous class runs a little late then you might not make it in time for the start of the next class, and if you show up late it may be a little difficult to find a (good) seat (in the case of some chemistry classes I’ve had to sit in the aisle). But if you have a longboard/scooter/etc. you’ll make it in under 10 minutes without a doubt.

It will be difficult both ways. LaKretz is one of the most southern buildings just short of the medical center, and Public Affairs is one of the most northern. It won’t be comfortable rushing, but it’s possible, and you’ll still run into problems UC-Dreams mentioned, like finding a good seat.

10 minutes is generally enough time–except exactly in your case.

Actually for both my classes from Lekretz to Public affairs they’re just discussion classes so I don’t think a good seat would be something I would care about. Cause I assume finding a good seat for lectures would be the priority…or am I wrong? Either way would going from Public Affairs to Young Hall be manageable as I would have a lecture in Young Hall and I think I would want a good seat there.

I had to get from Bunche (roughly the same distance as PubAff) to Young, and it took 8-9 minutes fast walking. If it’s a chem lecture, I would try to find someone to save you a seat if you want to sit close to the front as those fill up almost immediately (as in, within 1-2 minutes of the previous class getting out). You shouldn’t need good seating for a discussion.
