I have legacy at Bucknell but I have a 3.2 GPA. Also, I taken AP and honors courses.
My leadership activities are exceptional as I have held the office of president many times. I've also been nominated by my teachers for leadership awards. What are my chances?

What are your SAT/ACT scores?

SAT scores are Verbal 690
Math 710 Writing 650

Everything seems competitive aside from your GPA, but I’m sure your legacy status will help. So I’d say you’re a match.

Why does having legacy status have anything to do with getting into college?

Alumni give money to the school, and you don’t want to upset your alumni by not offering admission to their children. That isn’t to say legacy status guarantees admission however.

So because you give a school money you deserve entry? Alright it’s all clear to me now.

ha vibragreen i don’t think you know how much debate there has been around the fairness of giving advantage to legacies. it’s obviously not fair, but the politics/business of it makes sense. just know that having legacy helps your chances, whether you like it or not.
