Getting into economics as a transfer

Hey everyone, I just want to see how likely I am to get into economics at UT Austin.

After my freshman year of college, I’ll have a 3.53 gpa with 30 hours of course work. I am planning to apply for the spring of 2016 which means i’ll be at my current school (in texas) for one more semester. What are my chances of getting in assuming I can manage a 3.75+ next semester? Anything that anyone has to say would be greatly appreciated!

Economics is super easy to get into. Your stats is good enough, you should be fine. You also should put Liberal Arts Undeclared as your second choice just in case.
I got into COLA Undeclared and transfer to Economics after one semester. There are no application process for internal transfer at all. They take everybody.

Yep I put cola undeclared as my second choice. If you don’t mind me asking, what were your stats that got you into cola?

I got in with a 3.5 GPA, didn’t submit any test scores, a few volunteer experiences (just at my local church, not anything super amazing), three letters of recommendations from teachers and the staff where I volunteered at.

Hmm I don’t have much to put on my resume (I’ve never worked before but I have volunteered) but I guess I can sugar coat it. I’m going to get two letters of recommendation from professors and try to write outstanding essays. Even if I don’t get into economics, hopefully I’ll get into cola undeclared. Thank you for your feedback!
