I was wondering what does it take to get into St. John's University in Queens (jamaica) New York? From what I heard it is not very competetive and quite easy to get into. So here is a little over view of myself and grades. (Dont judge me) ok, so I didnt have a very good high school year. Im two months from graduating and my overall GPA is a 1.8. I know its not great but I didnt try very hard. I hate HS, im judged cause im not like everyone else and I have a lot going on. Im extremely smart, TRUST me. My teachers know it. I mean, I make B's and C's, and an A here and there. But I am by no means dumb. But basically, my question is do I stand a chance at getting in. 1.8 GPA, French club and Key club, had a job for 5 years, great letters of recommendation, 16 on ACT ( not great I know) my choosen major was psychology. So can anyone tell me about this school and my chances of getting in. Also I applied using the Academic Achievment application, if that means anything.

I don’t know the deal with St. John’s University, but saying that you’re smart does not compensate for your bad grades; rather for colleges, it shows that you didn’t try hard enough (which you admit to). But regardless, my sister is similar to you (in terms of social/grades in highschool) and I really hope you get into a college that you are satisfied with.
