Getting into the ILR

What would you say my stats have to be to get into the ILR. Would a 31 on the ACT cut it?? I have a lot of interest including international relations and biology. I was accepted to attend the global scholars summer program (Inter. relations at Washington and Lee) and am aslo conducting medical research at Washington University in St.louis for an honors division science fair project. Im just afraid my ACT will be too low!? But I heard/saw on the statistics that getting into it isnt as hard as other Cornell schools.

Input anyone???

a 31 will be fine.

worry less about that and more on writing absolutely perfect essays that talking about yourself, your interests, and most importantly WHY ILR.

i just hope you really like ILR and are not one of those...oh i'll get easily accepted into ILR and then transfer to CAS/AEM D:

haha no I really want to go to the ILR. It is my number 2 behind WASHU, so ill prolly just reg. decision to the ILR

31 should be fine. hell, even a 29 will be alright. I hope you do go to Cornell over WashU though! Oh, and take AP bio next year for sure. Kallnshrud is teaching.

haha this isnt wendy! you should know who this is

haha this isnt wendy! you should know who this is...eventhough ihavnt gotten a 31...it will happen in the future.

if washington and lee is affordable...you should defn try to get in there! i've heard great things about this college...it's one of the best for undergrads!

It's still IVY ;) make sure you work on your essays because ACT is not the only factor that can get you in

Hi Wendy, I'm pretty new to ILR (just sent in my deposit yesterday, in fact :)), but I wouldn't panic about your stats. My SATs, especially my math, were not that impressive; my highest math score on the SAT I was a 640, and I got a 650 on Math I, the easiest of the Math SAT IIs. I have heard that ILR cares much more about extracurriculars and "fit" with the program than stats alone, and it certainly worked out brilliantly even though I'm not a natural test-taker in the least. I also applied RD- I couldn't apply ED anywhere because of financial concerns- and it all turned out great for me. You, of course, want your scores to be as good as possible, but if they aren't the best, a good essay and a good match with the program should take care of everything.

Give it a shot, and good luck!

Biology and International Relations have nothing to do with ILR. (Maybe IR to a small degree) Apply to CAS.
