Getting into the University of Michigan

I’m currently a sophomore in high school with a cumulative GPA of 3.51 (my school doesn’t specify if it’s weighted or unweighted but I’m going to ask someone in my guidance office on Monday. I’m pretty sure it’s unweighted, but I’m not sure). I’m currently in the beginning of my second semester, do you think that I have time to bring my GPA up high enough by the end of junior year so I have a better chance to get in? I don’t know if this is too vague but I’m just looking for a general answer especially because I don’t take the ACT and SAT until next year…

yes! If you maintain a straight 4.0 gpa here on out, you should end up with around a 3.7. It’s still a but below Mich’s average, but it’ll get you within range.

You still have hope of bringing your GPA up. An upward trend will help. You don’t have to wait until next year to take the SAT or ACT. You are welcome to start taking it now for practice.
