Getting into UF chances?

Hey, I was wondering what my chances of getting into UF are?
I have two leadership positions at school and one at my church (HOSA Treasurer, Tuba Section leader in the marching band and audio leader at church)
I have a 4.3 weighted GPA and 3.5 unweighted
I am number 47 out of 670 kids in my junior class (Top 10%)
I have taken 7 AICE classes and have passed all my exams
I recently took the ACT and received a 23 which I do plan on taking again since I know it is not that good.
I will be taking the SAT this year in march
My grades, for the most part, have been good but freshman year math was bad as I received a D one semester but just that once.

Also I am on track for receiving my AA degree before I graduate high school

I also have 300+ volunteer hours lol

While your gpa is a bit beneath their average (3.5 < 3.78) your ACT is actually not terrible for the school, their avg. is a 28. Plus, your service hours are great and decent EC’s. So if you raise your ACT, you’ll have a good shot at getting in!

The average newly admitted UF student starting in Fall 2017 has a GPA of 4.4, an SAT score of 1349 out of 1600 and an ACT score of 30 out of 36. The essay and extracurricular activities weigh heavily as well. Keep working hard and good luck!

Right now you are significantly out of range for UF, FSU.

Kick up your grades and test scores.

What’s your recalculated GPA? That’s what really matters. If it’s around 4.4-4.5 then you’re fine.

How do you find that out?

@Genesisgg Take all your classes and add them up together then divide them by the amount of classes you’ve taken. Add extra points if it’s an AICE/IB/DE/AP class (+1) and 0.5 if it’s an Honors/Pre-AICE/Pre-IB class.
I assume you know how to calculate GPA but in case you don’t the default is A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1

For example:

Honors Physics - A -> 4.5 points
AP World History - B -> 4 points
Honors English - A - 4.5 points
AP Calc - B -> 4 points
AP Biology - A -> 5 points
Regular Spanish - A -> 4 points
Honors Band -> No points because UF doesn’t use band, art, PE, digital design, etc. during recalculation, but it wouldn’t count at all anyways.

All of that added up together would be 26 points, divided by 6 classes would = a 4.333 recalculated GPA

Keep in mind that although they do not calculate things like Art, Band, PE, Digital Design, etc. They will count those classes if they’re AP/IB/AICE. For example, AP Art would count towards your GPA whereas Honors Art wouldn’t.

This year’s average was 4.4, and next year’s average will likely be 4.45. If you have around that range you should be fine.
