Getting involved

So I’m a freshman and have been at Davis for almost a month, and I’ve realized that I haven’t really gotten involved at all yet. I know about a few different clubs (I’m probably joining the Ski or Snowboard Club,) but I don’t know what time their meetings are. Also, I really want to be part of an organization or club where I’ll feel like I’m involved in something (so, for example, the Atheist/Agnostic club doesn’t appeal to me too much. Although maybe they do more than I’m aware of.) Anyway, I’m wondering… a) if anyone has any suggestions for good and social clubs/organizations I can join on campus, and b) how I know what times clubs are meeting. Thanks!

Have you joined the UC Davis 2015 FaceBook Page…? You will likely find your answers and more… and a number of friends with similar interests as well.

As far as getting involved, I found the Davis wiki helpful in seeing what’s out there. Granted it may be somewhat out of date, but it has an expansive list of student organizations: [Student Organizations - Davis Wiki](http://daviswiki.org/student_organizations)

Also check [Campus Unions UC Davis: main](http://campusunions.ucdavis.edu) for the club-finder.

What are you interested in and looking for as far as a social club?

Also, look at postings on cork boards and random walls to see if there’s a club meeting you want to go to! And if you don’t know meeting times for a certain club, try to find them on Facebook, more than likely they’ll have updates on that information.

Lots to do… you just have decide to pursue. Remember… you can’t get a hit if you don’t swing the bat:

Thanks for the advice guys! Right now I’m considering Paintball Club, California Aggie, and Ski or Snowboard Club (maybe even the team.) I really want to be a part of something in which I can really get involved (ie. not clubs which just meet and talk.) I also want to join a club which hosts events or hangs out outside of the club itself. If anyone has any insight into the organizations I mentioned, that would be great!
