I hear it's hard to get into an LPAP before junior year ...
but breaking a sweat when your brain is working hard is so helpful -- and sometimes gets forgotten in the rush to meet academic, club, research deadlines...

The links above are merely a starting point. Not to forget club sports, etc.

I’ve heard great things about basketball in the new gym … didn’t anxiousmom once describe the special floors …

Fellow parent owls: when the pressure starts building (and it sounds like it’s starting already) you might want to mention the pool, courts, etc. …

Message to Owls: A little time in the gym can increase your energy and help you manage the stress! And it’s a fun way to spend time with friends … breaks matter.

Both my kids had LPAPs freshman and sophomore years; it’s all in the timing of registering. DS loves the new rec center, and it’s really a lovely facility. :)

External validation for the Wellness Center massages – from today’s New York Times, based on recent Cedars-Sinai research. Even a single session can make a difference.

Being at Yale now, I have to say that the new Rice gym is absolutely top-notch and beats Yale’s gym hands-down. You’ll fall in love with the gym that you won’t want to skip out on a day’s workout. All the machines have TV monitors (ok, maybe not all, but most of them) with a huge channel selection. Some of the treadmills have special Ipod incorporations where you can charge your Ipods or watch videos from them as you work-out. The architecture of the building is just beautiful. And there are plenty of courts to shoot hoops.

As for LPAP, I got rid of my 2 requirements Freshman year. All that matters is whether you get up early enough and have a good internet connection.

I’m sorry about misleading Owls and Hopeful Owls about the difficulty of signing up for LPAPs as a freshman/sophomore. I think my Owl’s been working on a plan where his friends all sign up together for some of them – and that’s where I got the wrong idea.
