Hey my best friend got into UVa ED this year, but she's been having some serious personal and familial problems this past semester. She's had some serious depression problems and her grades have dropped significantly.

She's gotten two D's for the first semester, but considering her situation, will she get rescinded immediately?

If anyone knows anyone who's gotten rescinded before or how UVa treats this kind of situation, please help.

Please help and Thank you.

not sure about UVa, but a friend of mine got her admission to UMich taken away after she failed a stupid art elective. idiot.

she'd better not wait for the shoe to drop, but work with her counselor to contact the school and see what can be done. If she takes the initiative to contact the school they'll be much more willing to work with her than if they only find out when they get her final transcripts.

I would be interested if anyone has any information about whether acceptances are ever withdrawn after midterm grades are completed, rather than them waiting until the end of the school year.

Your friend should be proactive and contact the college. It would help tremendously to have her GC involved. Since it is the middle of the school year and she has had reasons other than senioritis, I am almost certain that they would give her the rest of the year to work things out.
