Hey, all. I was just wondering if anyone here knows if UMd revokes admissions, and if so, how bad second semester grades have to be to get rescinded? I got a 3.16 overall last semester, and right now, I might end up with 2 Bs, 2 Cs and 2 Ds in the worst case scenario. (2.0 average) If anyone knows anything about College Park's admission revocation policy, your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

3.1 is whatever but a 2.0 is really bad. You should really try to bring those Ds up.

That said, I’m pretty sure MD doesn’t revoke admissions. They don’t even ask for your transcript until orientation (and even then I don’t think it’s required that you bring it in - they say it is, but they didn’t enforce it 3 years ago when I was entering). So, unless they changed the policy I think you’re in the clear…but dude…it’s better to be safe than sorry…even if the school doesn’t revoke your admission, your parents may revoke their funding!!!

Yeah, I realize it’s really bad. The thing is, in my school system, second semester senior grades go by trend (the final exam counts for a portion of the 4th quarter grade). And fourth quarter just started, and I basically decided to blow school work off to ensure I do well on my multiple self-studied AP exams (which I, of course, procrastinated on). Well, in many of my classes, we only have a few assignments given the short duration of fourth quarter for seniors. And, well, blowing off 1 or 2 assignments per class was…detrimental (to say the least) to my quarter grades.

But yeah, I should probably take some precautions. Though if it makes any difference, I got accepted with a 3.0 flat (unweighted), so I guess a 2.0 isn’t really deviating THAT MUCH from what is the norm for me in high school. Thanks for the input. :)

Haha don’t kid yourself, 3.0 to 2.0 is a pretty big drop! For your sake I hope they haven’t tightened up :P.
