Getting to UT Austin by bus?

So I've decided to take the Greyhound bus to UT for the summer orientation, but after doing some research, I found out that the Greyhound station where they drop you off in Austin is still about a 12 minute drive to the actual UT campus (according to Google Maps). Is there a shuttle bus that takes you all the way from the Greyhound bus station to inside the campus, or do I need to take a cab?

You can take a CapMetro (local) bus. The nearest UT shuttle is the Cameron Rd (CR) one, but I think it would be too hot and a little tricky with spaghetti bowl of roads to walk to the stop, esp with luggage.

Have you discovered this handy all-purpose transportation site? [Shuttles | Parking & Transportation Services (PTS) | The University of Texas at Austin](<a href=“Shuttles | Parking & Transportation | The University of Texas at Austin”>Shuttles | Parking & Transportation | The University of Texas at Austin)

You can use the CapMetro trip planner or try DabNab.

If you’re coming from Houston, check this out–similar to Texas Express (see the tab on UT transportation site), but this might offer more during summer.
[Kerrville Bus Company](http://www.iridekbc.com/dobie.asp)

This would be a common issue–suggest you Google it for more tips!

Hmm…I’ve been surfing through the sites you listed as well as several others, and it seems like it might be better just to take a plane there instead. It would only cost a little more…Does the Capital Metro bus take you directly into the UT campus from the Austin-Bergstrom Airport? And just to clarify, the Texas Express bus only runs during the school year, correct?

The Airport Flyer bus will drop you off on campus in a spot where it would be easy to get to Jester. Its a bit of a ride since it goes through some areas near the airport and through downtown first but it’s cheap and easy. I don’t know the exact location the stops so you’d have to look at the bus route map.
